All International students must apply for a student visa at the nearest local Russian Embassy or Consulate BEFORE they come to Russia. Original letter of acceptance (invitation letter) from KFU is required for the students who are applying for a visa. If you need any detailed information on the visa process then it is provided by your local Russian Embassy/Consulate.
If any other document is required to be enclosed then the embassy or consulate will advise you for such in your visa application and when your visa will be ready.
You have to register your stay within seven days (excluding weekends and holidays) from your arrival once you have arrived in Russia. Registration is mandatory for students to notify the immigration authorities about the place of your stay while you're in Russia. Students are also required to keep carefully and don't lose or throw away your Migration card; it is very important document that is need for registration. Please keep it carefully in your passport. Other assistance like the visa extension and migration will be provided by the KFU Department of External Affairs Admissions Office staff.
Health insurance of the students could be either brought with them at their arrival at the University (make sure it is valid in Russia) that covers the full study period at KFU or can apply for a Russian health insurance policy upon arrival in Kazan at Admissions Department.
