Kazan Federal University founded in 1804 is the second oldest university in Russia. The University is listed among the top 10 institutions of higher education in the country with an internationally acknowledged center of academic excellence. KFU has 14 Institutes, 3 high schools, 2 faculties, and 3 branches in the nearest cities, which provide a wide spectrum of degree programs in all fields of study with the main center of higher education for a vast Volga region. Information regarding all the courses offered by the University can be accessed via course catalogue during the current semester.
At the beginning of the semester the course catalogue will be published. If you require any information at present we recommend you to go through the course catalogue of the previous year and then finalize your courses after arrival in Kazan.
You are required to arrive at the university beforehand the semester starts, so that you can settle and complete the whole registration procedure, etc.
Russian language is recommended to learn and have knowledge as most of the courses are held in Russian. We recommend students to have Russian language skills equivalent to level B 2 of CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). Though we do not require any language certificate, but we need evidence and verification from Russian language teacher who can guarantee the required language skills (see Application form).
A Russian Language Summer School for international students with an extra fee is organized every year by Kazan Federal University. The school takes place in August and offers both a study and cultural program.
Russian language courses are also offered by KFU during the semester for exchange students which are free of charge.
